Social Media

Background

Users of the Adobe Online Marketing Suite are not always easy to round up for research. We often find ourselves reaching out to Product Managers, Consultants, and Account Managers for names. However, the names we receive often times will be the buyers of our products – not the users.

My Role

Being aware of the power of social media for customer insights, I decided to create a Twitter handle for our team, @OmnitureUXD. I decided to go with Twitter because Omniture already had a couple of other useful handles which were very popular amongst our users.

I have used the account to accept and request feedback, locate users for interviews and testing, and to help foster a positive perception for our team and organization.

New Found Knowledge

I quickly discovered it is difficult to keep track of all the feedback we receive and tie it in with current project initiatives. This problem inspired me to start developing User Insight Groups as a more effective method for product input.
